Living a Life of Gratitude

It is normal to be unhappy about your life. It is normal to look around and complain about what you do not have that others do, but you cannot solely focus on the things you lack because although your life may not be in any way perfect, it will not be a total failure. The problem with other people is  that they focus too much on the negative, they forget and neglect to thank the heavens for the good things they have in their life.

The Value of Gratitude

When you are in a state of utter defeat, it is not easy to look up and think of anything worth thanking for. How can you begin throwing expressions of gratitude when you are having the most difficult time in your life? Well, it is definitely going to be a struggle, but you have to learn to break through the pain, to be able to find some way to smile. The truth is this, your life is a series of events and you have to understand how important it is to be grateful for both the good and the bad. The bad things happen for a reason, and you have to come to terms with this truth so that you can turn your bad situation into something worth celebrating over. You have to learn to be grateful not only for the pleasant things, but also for the awful ones which will build character and make you strong.

How to Show Gratitude

People show their gratitude in different  ways. A simple expression of thanks is good enough,  but for the gift of life, you can show gratefulness through these strategies:

·        Start a ritual. If you are having a hard time being grateful for the things you have in your life, you should force a ritual for yourself to practice. When you wake up in the morning, you should count all the things that you should be grateful for and start a habit of doing this every day.

·        Give a free hug or send out a smile. When you are have some things you are grateful for, show the world just how happy you are by giving people free hugs and smiles. You will be able to spread your positive emotions to other people, and they will learn to be grateful and happy, as well.

·        Pass it on. A good way to show gratefulness would be to pass it on to others. If you are truly grateful and happy for what you have in your life, you should share the blessings you have by paying it forward. If someone has helped you and has done a magnificent difference in your life, you should endeavor to be a gift to someone else, too.

·        Feel good about yourself. There are a lot of things that you should be grateful for. Your life is a blessing. The earlier you realize this, the better. There are a lot of things you ought to be grateful for and when you begin to understand this, you will learn to feel good about yourself.

·        Learn to appreciate others. People exist for one another. When you realize how important the people are in your life, you will begin to appreciate their existence and your existence as well.
