Using Affirmations to Improve Your Life

There are things that are not easy to imagine and accept, but sometimes one finds a need to develop new things, and this is how affirmations work. Seemingly unnatural in the beginning, one finally develops a natural habit especially when it is repeated. Affirmations work this way. When certain things are repeated over and over again, they become rooted in your brain. By playing with words you can condition your mind to think a certain way, and through this practice you can live a better life.

Rules about words

There really is no rule to follow when it comes to choosing the right affirmations to speak to yourself on a regular basis, but if you are looking to make good use of this practice, you can consider taking these things into consideration:

·        Make sure that the affirmations you repeat are applicable to your own reality. Make sure that you stay true to yourself and that your affirmations do not disagree with who you are. You are encouraged to go beyond, but you should stay away from delusional affirmations.

·        It is often effective to use just up to 2 affirmations at a time. Having too much can be confusing. One or two is fine and when you finish programming yourself with it, and then you can try the others.

·        Affirmations are programming techniques. Before you decide to use a word as your affirmation, make sure that you understand what the world really means, before you begin to program it in your head. Make sure that you know what it effect it will have on you, so that you can use it appropriately.

·        Keep your affirmations in the present tense. It is not good to write your intentions in the future tense because you are setting your dreams for a far future, and not making a definite claim over it, today and now.

·        If any of the affirmations you have been using seem to disagree to you, do not be hesitant to scrap it and change it with another.

·        Be clear with what you want. When you write your affirmations be straight to the point and do not beat around the bush. Use your own words and do not try to be fancy. You are the only one who is going to hear these words, so make sure that you can understand it very well.

·        It is good enough for you to repeat the same affirmation for twenty to thirty days. That amount of repetition should be good enough for you to make good use of.

·        Always try to be positive. If you want to have a better life and you want to be a better version of yourself, you will make sure that your affirmations are positive.

Working on your affirmations

Your affirmations can contain anything. Your objective is to be able to fulfill a goal so make sure that the affirmations you choose for yourself will bring you closer and closer to where you want to be.
