Your Worst Enemies in Self Growth

Your Worst Enemies in Self Growth

Many people are unhappy with their lives. They do not exactly get what they want in their lives and they have no choice but to go through the struggle. If you are refusing to be complacent about all of this, you can fight back and do something about it. Unfortunately, self-growth is not easily achieved. Not only is it hard to fight through the struggle, it is almost impossible due to the presence of barriers.

The Presence of Barriers

Barriers come in different forms and they can be physical, emotional and mental barriers. They will be powerful enough to destroy you and keep you from getting to your destination. It is up to you if you will fight or succumb to it. It is up to you if you want to make a difference. The barriers will not go away because they are natural components of every journey, and you either have to overcome them or allow them to overcome you.

The Enemies

There are different kinds of barriers that you will have to deal with. Here are some of them:
·        Fear: This is an obvious barrier from self growth and success. Fear keeps people from doing something because it gives people a reason to rationalize laziness, incapacity and poor performance. Fear can easily drain you of your power and can enslave you.

·        Pride: Pride keeps people from growing because when give way to pride, you shut down certain parts of your life and keep yourself from spreading your wings and achieving greatness. Pride is quite poisonous and if you allow pride to rule over your life, you are allowing yourself to be consumed by it.
·        Isolation: No man is an island, but many people will insist on being alone and this will be their downfall. Isolation can be a growth enemy because it will make you incapable to do and achieve certain things. There are certain tasks that you should not do alone, and will be done better with the help of other people. If you isolate yourself from people, you are limiting yourself.
·        Guilt: Guilt is something you have to struggle with, after doing something wrong and it becomes a barrier for growth because there are times when your guilt will behave like an inner voice that will control you and keep you from doing the things that you have to do.
·        Perfectionism: A lot of people are true perfectionists and while this is not supposed to be something bad, when it gets out of control, it could become a hindrance. If nothing is good enough for you, then you give yourself such a small room to grow. Nothing is good enough because your standards are too high, and you end up constantly frustrated.
Dealing with Barriers

Barriers to self-growth can be damaging so you have to deal with them. You have to find a way to break free from whatever is hindering you so that you can move on and achieve something great for yourself.
